This is a traditional South Indian neck chain, designed for both daily wear and special occasions, and is commonly crafted using micro-gold plating over a base metal (often copper or brass) for an authentic gold look.
The main chain features a thick, rope-like or woven pattern known as Saradu or Thali Kodu. This pattern is highly durable and traditional, often used for Mangalsutras/Thalis, but also popular for general-purpose chains.
Muagappu (Front Element): The chain is highlighted by a Muagappu, which is the ornate centerpiece or front element that sits in the front/center of the chain.
This specific design features three distinct, decorative gold beads or balls placed symmetrically on the chain.
