Description
This earring is a beautiful example of traditional Indian jewelry, often referred to as Forming Jewellery or One-Gram Gold Jewellery in the imitation market, which is designed to closely resemble traditional South Indian gold work.
Style: Dangling Drop Earrings or Jhumka style (but elongated).
Design: It features a series of three connected, matte gold spheres or ‘bells’ (Mullai Mottu) that dangle from a simple stud.
The top piece is a rounded stud for the earlobe.
This is followed by two sets of double spheres.
The bottom element is a single, smaller, rounded sphere with a slightly textured or patterned finish.
Finish: The metal has a matte or antique gold-tone finish, giving it a very traditional, heirloom-like appearance, which is popular in South Indian designs. The term “Forming” suggests it is likely gold-plated or imitation gold jewelry.
Occasion: Its elegant yet relatively simple design makes it suitable for daily wear, office wear, or as an accent piece for traditional outfits.
